Kick and bass as one foundation
In Future House, kick and bass share a lot of energy. Timing, pitch, envelope and frequency distribution therefore need to be judged together. Sidechain alone rarely solves every issue; short, focused corrections are often more musical and transparent.
Punch through controlled transients
A kick feels large when attack and body work together. Transient shaping, clipping and parallel processing can help in small doses. Peaks that are too hard make the track tiring and complicate mastering later.
Wide leads with a stable centre
Supersaws and layers can be wide, but the supporting energy should remain stable in the centre. Focused mid/side processing, clean phase relationships and automation create size without the mix collapsing in mono.
Arrangement creates space
The cleanest mix begins in the arrangement. If bass, chords, leads and effects fill the same range at the same time, no single plugin can fix it. Priorities, selective thinning and dynamic automation create a clear hierarchy.
